Khamkeut Saen-Oudom Gold Mine Project
Located in Kham Keut District, Bolikhamxay Province
With success found in both the wood and construction businesses, and seeing the potential for development in the mining sector due to the abundant mineral resources of Lao PDR, Phonesack Group decided to invest in the mining industry, with a challenge to show that Lao local businessmen have the skills and capabilities to operate such an immense project, as well as to uplift the image on the potential abilities of the Lao people to an internationally accepted renowned level.
Phonesack Group was granted the concession by the Government of Lao PDR in November 2009, to develop the Khamkeut Saen-Oudom Gold Mine Project (“KSO”), which is located amidst mountainous terrain along the Vietnamese and Lao border, about 22 KMs from the town of Lak Sao and about 700 KMs south of Vientiane Capital. The concession area spans over 1,802 sq kms.

The Khamkeut-Saen Udom Gold Mining Co., Ltd was established and registered in August 2010 following preliminary exploration that was commissioned in 2008 to assess the viability and sustainability of the project, whereby Phonesack Group spent a major portion of its resources to develop and support this project along with the support from internationally recognized consultants. This Project is one of Lao PDR’s largest developing projects with tremendous economic potential which will not only benefit its developers but also offer extraordinary opportunities for the government of Lao PDR and its citizens.
