Phonesack Wood Project
Phonesack Group started off its business operations in the wood industry, with a vision to refine one of the greatest wealth that nature has to offer in order to affluence comfort and class obtained from Lao PDR’s rich natural resources for sustaining unique and extravagant lifestyle for generations to come, and to enhance the competitive ability of Lao wood products in the Asian and International Markets.
Phonesack Group established two wood processing facilities, one in Thakhek District and the other in Nyommalat District, Khammouane Province respectively. The woods processed at these two plants were derived from the logging concessions granted by the Government for the development of various other hydropower, mining and road projects located across Bolikhamxay, Salavan, Xekong and Attapeu Provinces respectively, including amongst those, the Nam Theun 2 Project Reservoir in Nakai District, Khammouane Province.
The production facility in Yommalath District spans more than 83,957 square meters.
The facility in Yommalath District employs more than 2,000 employees during peak production schedules, making it one of the largest employers in the region.
Phonesack timber products were exported to China, Australia, Thailand, Vietnam, Russia, America, Japan, Korea, which included: random strips, one piece, parquet, unitype, (2P) finger-joint laminate, (4P) Finger-joint Laminate, 2-ply, etc.
